Ronald McDonald House Charities of Denver, Inc. (RMHC) provides a home away from home for families of children being treated at area hospitals and supports community programs that serve the needs of children.

Our Houses never close, operating around the clock, with a very small administrative staff and hundreds of volunteers to ensure the comfort and safety of the families that stay with us.  The Ronald McDonald House of Denver and Aurora serves as a home-away-from-home for more than 2,500 families a year for approximately 20,000 nights, helping families gain access to the medical care their children desperately need. Every night of the year, we are home to up to 76 families.  Some are here because their child is waiting for or has received a heart transplant, or going through chemotherapy/radiation for cancer, or a premature newborn weighing in at just a few ounces, some children have been in accidents and face months of rehabilitation.  These are just a few of the circumstances that bring families to the Ronald McDonald House. Our families also have many things in common, for example the anxieties of the unknown and how their child will respond to treatments, the cost of staying in the Denver area for long periods of time, leaving their family, friends and support systems at home. The House serves as an oasis during difficult times…a place where after long, long days at the hospital a family can return to a home cooked meal, support from our staff and volunteers, a massage, tickets to a Denver event, games or just a quiet place to refresh and prepare for another day at the hospital. Without the Ronald McDonald Houses many families would be unable to afford to stay close to their child while receiving treatment in the Denver area or they would be staying at a hotel without the support and compassion of other families, staff and volunteers who understand the nature of the circumstances that have brought them from the comfort of their home to Denver.
