The Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House supports families of seriously ill children by creating a community of comfort and hope.

Since 1974, the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House has supported families of seriously ill children by creating a community of comfort and hope.  Our programs include two Ronald McDonald Houses, two Ronald McDonald Family Rooms, and a Ronald McDonald Camp. Founded as the first Ronald McDonald House in the world, today we are the model for more than 300 Houses around the globe. Over 300 volunteers and a full-time staff of 18 ensure the successful operations of our five programs. Our two Ronald McDonald Houses, together serving up to 63 families each night, are built on the foundation of providing holistic support in an effort to ease the daily burdens families with seriously ill children in Philadelphia hospitals face so that they can stay together and stay focused on what matters most:  their child’s health and well-being.  By meeting their needs – a comfortable room, nightly home-cooked meals, van rides to the hospital, children's play spaces, and the support of others who understand – we help parents sleep easier each night, knowing they are always close by their child’s side. In 2011, we served more than 2,000 families all because of the generous support of friends like you.
