SOAP was founded and run by Theresa Flores, traffickfree.com, who is a human trafficking survivor, advocate and author. This is the first chapter started in this area of Michigan.
We hold small events one on one with city officials, schools, fire fighters, etc to teach them red flags and signs to look for, to help identify victims.
We also hold larger events open to the public to educate and train volunteers on how to approach hotels to hand out soap that has the national hotline taped to it and show missing persons flyers. The bigger events bring between 200-300 people.
