In Kabale, Uganda, families and communities struggle to access adequate healthcare, education, clean water, and nutrition. Close to 18% of school-aged children are not enrolled in school, and the dropout rate averages 66%.

Rukundo International is a community service organization formed to provide improved educational opportunities, community-based support, and hope to orphans and other underprivileged and at-risk children and their extended families in Kabale, Uganda. As part of its delivery of educational programs, RI will address broader community development needs, partnering with other community service organizations where suitable opportunities arise. In executing its mission, RI will adhere to five core principles:

1. Focus on poor and disadvantaged children

2. Improve the physical health of students.

3. Provide emotional support to students.

4. Provide spiritual support to students

5. Transparency is at the heart of our programs.

All funds are raised through volunteer-based efforts in the U.S. with no paid staff Close to 100% distribution of funds, used directly to support beneficiaries in Uganda and a small implementation team in Kabale Unique locale in Kabale, Uganda As education programs are designed and implemented, they will feature a high quality curriculum and high graduation rates Education programs will focus on orphans and other at-risk children Programs will be based on early intervention, starting with Pre-K classes Activities delivered in Kabale will have a strong community focus
