Merryman Park Advisory Council
The Merryman Park Advisory Council is a volunteer organization whose sole purpose is to raise funds forthe renovation of Merryman Park, a popular playground for families in Chicago's North Center neighborhood.
The Chicago Park District does not have the budget to renovate existing playgrounds. They will, however, pay one-third of the cost and manage the project for communities interested in raising the dollars themselves. The Merryman Park playground, built in 1951, last received new equipment in 1982 and was resurfaced in asphalt and woodchips in 1990.We aim to provide:
A safe, up-to-date playground Age-appropriate equipment and resilient surfacing A gathering place for children of all abilitiesThe total cost for a new playground of this size, including demolition, site preparation, installation, and equipment is approximately $450,000.
