GFWC-IL Coal City Junior Woman's Club

Some of the projects and programs we do include Octoberfest, where we organize an outdoor fall festival with crafters and entertainment.  We also provide High School Scholarships and sponsor High School students for the Illinois Leadership Seminar.  We fingerprint children, provide books for new mothers to read to their babies and we host  a Baby Valentine contest.We reward children for good behavior with a Student of the Month award.  We host community programs such as Human Trafficking awareness. We provide beauty in Coal City every April with our Blue and White pinwheels that represent Child Abuse Awareness Month. We provide holiday events for the community such as the Village Tree Lighting in November and an Easter Scramble for kids. 

The Juniors also provide monetary relief to a number of charity organizations such as the Food Pantry, Easter Seals, Children's Reseach Foundation, the community BackPack Program, St. Judes Childen's research, Grundy  County Hospice, just to name a few. 

The positive benefits of becoming a member of our club are numerous. They improve leadership skills, public speaking and gain greater empathy for others. Many members have gained employment due to the life skills learned as a GFWC-IL Coal City Junior Woman Clubwoman.  Lifetime friendships have also been formed!
