Since 1993, over 10,000 LGBTQ youth and youth allies have walked through the doors of The Attic Youth Center. Whether youth are seeking a caring adult to talk to, a safe space to express their identity, activities to participate in after school, or assistance with finding housing or a job, The Attic strives to have a positive impact on many aspects of their lives. The Attic consistently evaluates its programming in an effort to assure that each youth who participates in Attic services and activities grows and thrives. Over time, The Attic has found that consistent participation in Attic programming leads to:  

- increased positive behavior/personal and social responsibility; 

- increased social and emotional competencies (e.g. interpersonal skills, adaptability, teamwork); 

- increased leadership capacity (e.g. public speaking, group facilitation, advocacy)

- improved literacy, study skills, and academic competencies

- improved job acquisition skills; increased 21st century skills (e.g. information technology literacy, critical thinking, creativity and innovation, etc.)

- improved school attendance.
