Chicago International Charter School (CICS) is a public charter school. Our mission is to provide, through innovation and choice, an attractive and rigorous college-preparatory education that meets the needs of today’s students.
We at CICS believe that all children, regardless of gender, race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, or disability have a right to a high-quality college-preparatory education. It is this philosophy, and our desire to close the achievement gap, that led to the opening and expansion of our network of campuses. Since opening the first two CICS campuses in 1997, our organization has grown to a network of 14 campuses spread across the city of Chicago and 1 in Rockford, serving nearly 9,000 children in grades K-12.
